Brain-destroying killer comics just the way we like them

Original Art: Bulletproof Coffin Commission by Shaky Kane

So, again with the short post, sorry about that (if anyone cares) …

A while ago, I ordered a couple of commissions from Shaky Kane (one intended as a present and the one below), and who am I not to share it with the Internet. My only request was to have the Coffin Fly and the Unforgiving Eye, then giving good old Shaky absolute freedom to do whatever he wanted. The result was impressive, fast and way better than I was expecting.

Here’s the original that’s now waiting for an appropriate frame back at home:

He even scanned and colored it because he’s that nice:

Now I spend my days thinking about ways to get some money and order more …

Kart Krossover done right

Just came from holidays with a treasure in my hands: KART RACER’s four super-hero kart racing box. The characters involved (thanks China!) are: Batman of Zur-En-Arrh, Blue Spider-Man, Gold and flesh armour Iron Man and Ultraman. If only there was a comic tie-in …

Here some pictures for your enjoyment:

Shaky Kane’s Monster Truck

I loves me some Shaky, that’s impossible to deny … so the other day he re-posted a link to The Endless Coffin on Facebook, and he took a look at the work we are doing at Raygun Roads, and he mentioned how cool it would be to do an online version of Monster Truck and one thing led to the other and it’s done and it’s now online and it’s beautiful and you should take a look at it …

So, sit tight and brace yourselves while we descend into the madness that is Sir Shaky Kane’s brain. Ladies and gentlemen, with Shaky’s permission, I give you Shaky Kane’s Monstertruck, the full automatically scrolling version (it will take you about 10 minutes depending on the size of your monitor). Enjoy!!!

Jack Kirby’s Dwayne Elizondo (…) Camacho

I caught a glimpse of Idiocracy yesterday on TV, and again I can’t help feel that Terry Crews’ character, President Dwayne Elizondo Mountain Dew Herbert Camacho, has jumped out directly from a 70’s Kirby comic (anything from his Captain America Mindbomb run to Kamandi), if only aesthetically. So I decided to give it a try, by quick-coloring a Conan illustration by Jack Kirby and this only reaffirms my feeling:

Raygun Roads: It begins …

So, one of the reasons I have been so busy lately is that I was helping a group of very nice and talented people design and launch a website that ties in with their comic book: Raygun Roads. An ashcan edition of the comic will hit the Glasgow Comic Convention this weekend, so if you are in the area, go there, get a copy and say hi to co-creator, and force of nature, Owen Michael Johnson. He promised not to sleep during the whole weekend, so I would suggest doing it early on Saturday 😉

If you like this, go to http://raygunroads.com and watch the animation in the media section!!! My jaw hit the floor the first time I watched it.

So, take a look at the website, http://raygunroads.com … The effort the whole team is putting on the comic is huge, but it’s totally worth it. It feels fresh and wildly energetic. And respectful to the classics too, as there’s a soundtrack that goes with it, in a tribute to the geniuses behind Warrior Nun Areala vs. Razor – CD edition (no, sorry, I misunderstood, it DOES have a soundtrack, but I am pretty sure that the Raygun Roads crew has no knowledge of that crossover milestone).

Who/what is/are D-VOID?

Congratulations to the whole team from Fanthoman, Darkseid Ramone, and that attention-seeking parasite Inigo, too. We can’t wait to have the whole comic in our hands around September.
