A week of art (Spanish edition): Carlos Pacheco

There’s not much I can tell you about Carlos Pacheco that hasn’t been said before, originally from Spain he jumped from Marvel UK to the US and has worked on almost all the big titles and even published creator owned stuff. So, keeping that in mind, let’s take a look at his beginnings doing covers and pin-ups for Comics Forum (the Spanish publisher of Marvel comics during the 80’s and 90’s).

Here’s an assortment of his covers for Clasicos Marvel (a series that reprinted classic Marvel arcs). I guess most of you will have no problems to identify which arcs they are for:

And some other covers and pin-ups from other series:

A week of art: Keith Giffen

Soooo, to finish off the week of art, how about some Keith Giffen? I wanted to end big and trying to pick a few Kirby pieces would be too heart-breaking. I have loved Giffen’s work since I can remember and his ability to reinvent his style decade after decade is one of the most interesting things to follow in the US comics scene.

I tried to select some unpublished or rare illustrations. Some of them are from http://www.comicartfans.com, which, as always, feels like a trip down the missed opportunities boulevard …

Mr. Giffen, we all like your writing but try to get some art done more regularly, please! And if everything else fails, there’s always Kickstarter!!!

A week of art: Rafael Grampá

I will try to post a few drawings by comic artists I like every day this week. We start with a few drawings of the excellent Rafael Grampá … Get yourself a copy of Mesmo Delivery if you haven’t, good stuff.
